RAT/MOUSE STEREOTAXICS

New Standard™ Stereotaxic Instruments for Rats and Mice

Includes everything for both Mice and Rats

Like the classic Lab Standard™, the NEW Standard Stereotaxic Instrument has larger laser engraved vernier scales (accurate to 100 um), 80 mm of ventral-dorsal, medial-lateral and anterior-posterior travel, absolute lock at 90° ventral-dorsal and brass-bushings for electrical grounding. It is available as a digital or motorized model.

But the NEW Standard "design" is what sets it apart:

Revolutionary vertically-adjusting ear and nose bar posts

Revolutionary horizontally-adjusting ear and nose bar posts

Designed for both Rats and Mice all on the same base

No U-frame, maximizes operating space

Traditional and non-traumatic Rat ear bars

Includes the innovative Mouse ear bars

Includes Mouse and Rat Nose adaptors

Includes the innovative Mouse ear bars

Includes Mouse and Rat nose adaptor

Digital Rat and Mouse Stereotaxic Instruments

The Digital version offers greater speed of operation and increased accuracy

Our flexible Mouse and Rat Stereotaxic Instruments provides users with the ability to perform surgeries on both Mice and Rats on the same base. Digital Stereotaxics offers greater speed of operation and increased accuracy. The digital display helps reduce the risk of human error and increase accuracy (10-rather than 100-micron resolution). The large touch screen display is also useful for surgeries performed in low light, or constrained environments where reading the vernier scale is difficult.

Motorized Stereotaxic Instruments that Accomodate both Mice and Rats

Motorized versions of our Rat/Mice Stereotaxics

The innovative design of our Rat/Mouse Stereotaxic Instrument provides users with the ability to perform surgeries on both Mice and Rats on the same base. Motorizied versions of these Stereotaxics include customized motors and the state-of-the-art StereoDrive software to allow motorized, computer controlled stereotaxic positioning in all 3 orthogonal axes. The intuitive movement control and integrated stereotaxic atlas enables unprecedented accuracy and higher throughput in all stereotaxic applications.

Ultra-Precise Stereotaxic Instruments for Rats and Mice

Ultra-Precise Manipulators offer 10um resolution!

The innovative design of Stoelting New Standard Rat and Mouse Stereotaxic Instruments provide users with the ability to perform surgeries on both mice and rats on the same base while the Ultra-Precise manipulator arm adds up to 10um precision and increased resolution

New Standard Stereotaxic Instrument, Base Only

The New Standard™ Stereotaxic base for use with Rats and Mice

Like the classic Lab Standard™, the NEW Standard Stereotaxic Instrument has larger laser engraved vernier scales (accurate to 100 um), 80 mm of ventral-dorsal, medial-lateral and anterior-posterior travel, absolute lock at 90° ventral-dorsal and brass-bushings for electrical grounding. It is available as a digital or motorized model.

Dual New Standard™ Stereotaxic, Rat and Mouse

Decrease surgical time and reduce errors with the Dual Arm version of the New Standard™ Stereotaxic

The innovative design of the New Standard™ Stereotaxic Instrument provides users with the ability to perform surgeries on both Mice and Rats on the same base. The New Standard™ includes a 100 micron 3-axes, left-hand manipulator arm, separate rat and mouse adapters, dual-sided (18° and 45°) rat ear bars, triple point mouse ear bars, and corner clamp probe holder. The Dual Arm version can decrease surgery times and help reduce potential time consuming errors. A second manipulator arm is convenient, if not mandatory, in applications such as dual injections, bilateral cannulations, simultaneous stimulation and recording, etc.

Lab Standard™ Stereotaxic, Rat and Mouse

The Classic Lab Standard™ Stereotaxic instrument with both Mouse and Rat Adaptors

For use with the Lab Standard™ series, Stoelting and most other Stereotaxic Instruments.

Model organisms with soft skulls, such as the mouse and the neonatal rat, are difficult to secure firmly in a traditional stereotaxic instrument. The stainless steel ear bars used for adult rats are too heavy to provide a secure hold without compressing the sides of the skull inward (which closes the airways and impedes blood flow). Further, the neonatal rat pup has no external opening of the auditory canal into which to insert the ear bars.

Unique, light ear bars
Stoelting’s Mouse/Neonatal Rat Adaptor employs light, Delrin® Ear Bars with tapered points on one end, and rubber tips on the other, to facilitate surgery on mice and rat pups. A unique feature permits ear bars to be independently adjusted in height to level the skull. Laser-engraved scales show the vertical positions of the ear bars. A Tooth Bar and Nose Clamp secures the nose. The Jaw Holder Cuffs fit over the ends of the ear bars, replacing rubber tips, providing an alternative non-invasive means of securing the animal’s head in the stereotaxic stage. These options for “triple point” securing of the animal’s head in this adaptor make it the most versatile mouse adaptor available.

Set of two jaw holder cuffs are included.

Triple-point options for securing the animal's head are also included.

Dual Lab Standard™ Stereotaxic, Rat and Mouse

A Dual Arm version of the Lab Standard™ supplied with both Mouse and Rat Adaptors

Stoelting's Lab Standard™ with Rat and Mouse Adaptors is equipped with a U-frame base traditionally used for rat surgeries, but is supplied with rat and mouse adaptors making it the ideal stereotaxic frame to use with both species. The Dual Arm version can decrease surgury times and help reduce potential time consuming errors. A second manipulator arm is convenient, if not mandatory, in applications such as dual injections, bilateral cannulations, simultaneous stimulation and recording, etc.
